What do an After-party, a Steak Dinner, and Braving the Storm Have In Common?…
By Matt Matawaran
Howdy folks. It’s the big M-Dizzle, back with new jam. Now as most of you (Mom, Dad, Patrick and Connie) probably know, I’m from Los Angeles (the City of Angels). And being from L.A., I’m used to the temperature being at least semi-warm (anything below 60 and consider me p-coated). Now I love layering, and I love Denver even more… but OMG was it freezing this past weekend. There was even a chance of snow (not the Informer guy...the other white and soft thing… OOOOHHHHHH… talk about topical, huh?). But ladies and gentlemen, I’m a trooper (more like a Starship Trooper… never cared much for insects) and I braved the cold and ended up having a killer night.
The evening began with a steak AND shrimp dinner that was on the company! It felt good, it tasted good, I looked good (new Rhino necklace alert! Check it next time you see me), it was simply awesome. After the feast (PS - I just had Jimmy Johns… could be the best sub in America… I’m just saying) we headed over to a club called Owsleys in Downtown Denver to host an after-party, featuring the amazing Mike Relm, the awesome local band The Photo Atlas, and L.A.’s favorite DJ, MATTER. It was soooooooo crazy! The Photo Atlas played a great set of their own special brand of dance-rock to which the crowd shook their behinds from start to finish. Then came Mike Relm who tore the place apart with an insane DJ set accompanied by a killer video collage of images corresponding with the tunes. And to close out the night, Matter did what he always does and performed a hard hitting DJ performance that you couldn’t help but dance your face off to. It was wonderful.
LOVE YOU GUYS!
