On Thursday, March 12, the Antics Street Team will swarm the slopes of Mountain High in Wrightwood, California to take over College Night, its monthly series of parties for college students at the Bullwheel Bar & Grill. DJ Slip Matt will be spinning, and we’ll bring our screen printing machine and the Matrixes tricked out with Rock Band. There will also be a ton of sick giveaways, so come check us at Mountain High!
Following the 2009 Winter Dew Tour‘s final stop at Northstar-at-Tahoe, ANTICS threw the biggest and baddest after party to ever hit the slopes. A good time was had by all - including host Todd Richards, who served master of ceremonies, and DJs QBert and Shaun Slaughter - and we have the photos to prove it. Take a gander!
On Saturday, February 28, Big Bear Mountain in Big Bear Lake, CA will host the 2009 Bro Down Showdown, presented by Active and Burton. The competition will follow Wide Open format, allowing riders both pro and amateur to compete for over five grand in cash and prizes. If you think you have what it takes, we’ll see you slopeside on Big Bear this Saturday, bro.
And so the 2009 Winter Dew Tour has reached its final stop of the season: The Toyota Championship, scheduled for the upcoming weekend at Northstar-at-Tahoe. To cap off a great season of action sports events, Antics is hosting a very exclusive Winter Dew Northstar Party on Saturday night, February 21, in Tahoe! The event will be hosted by master rider Todd Richards, and will feature ace DJ sets by QBert and Shaun Slaughter. Of course, we won’t forget to bring our trademark photo booth and t-shirt screenprinting station, so be sure to RSVP ASAP right here.
This Thursday, February 5, 17 of the world’s best snowboarders, including Red Bull team standouts Shaun White, Travis Rice and Pat Moore, will compete for a ginormous $100,000 purse in the Red Bull Snowscrapers Big Air Challenge. This particular event is especially unique, in that there will be no mountains in sight. The New York City skyline, however, will be in full view, as the contest is to be held on a giant, constructed ramp smack in the middle of East River Park! How’s about that? As a bonus, champion musical acts such as Anthrax and Black Gold will be setting the score as the best riders in the world aim to settle their own.
Everyone’s collective heart stopped after bearing witness to an incredibly scary fail during Gretchen Bleir’s finals run:
She rose, shaken but okay, with a smile that seemed to say, “I get knocked down but I get up again”. In the very spirit of Chumbawamba, one by one, skiers, snowboarders, action sports elitists, voyeurs, amateurs, and pros came to Aspen Village all looking to party.
Thursday night, January 8, the Antics team descended on the valley of Mount Snow, VT to host a wild opening night party for the second stop of this season’s Winter Dew Tour. Snowboard jockeys, spectators, and locals all dropped by at the Hermitage Inn to forget the ice storm outside and dance the cold night away.
January 7th was the 2nd Annual SoCal Grudge Match brought to you by Active Rideshop and Toyota Matrix. It’s essentially where the fit hits the shan. Teams from the Inland Empire, San Diego, Long Beach, and L.A. proper were in rare form on the well-groomed slopes of Mountain High. 90 minutes from your dorm dude.
The big surprise came when judges decided to give the freebie DC snowboard for the best trick to a rider who cracked his face the hardest - that being the gnarliest 360 to faceplant I’ve ever seen without the flashing red lights and stretcher.
Championship props go to the Inland Empire for walking away with 1st win solely on the box. All winners got money, gear, and bragging rights….for a year.
